Welcoming a new life, and looking after you as you become a mother

Two families confirmed the meals + in-home doula package this week. Julia writes about why she combined in-home doula support with confinement meals, and shares the latest availability, with November fully booked and openings in mid-December and mid-January 2027.

On a home kitchen counter, a pair of hands ladles slow-simmered soup from a stainless flask into a bowl, beside a confinement meal box of rice, fish and greens, a cup of tea and a folded white muslin baby blanket; in the room behind, a wooden crib and a rocking chair with a cushion

Since Julia’s Kitchen launched the 360 in-home doula + confinement meals package, two families have confirmed this week. Thank you for your trust. Going back into homes to support new families is work I’m truly happy to be doing again.

Every time expecting parents come to our office to sign, I’m moved by the mix of excitement, anticipation and a few nerves.

From how a mother arranges her meals and rest after the birth to the everyday care of a newborn, every family has so much they want to understand. I’m glad I can draw on my years of experience to go through it all with them, one question at a time, so they can get ready for their baby with more peace of mind.

A confinement nanny or confinement meals? You don’t have to choose

That’s why I brought in-home doula support and confinement meals together. A confinement nanny and confinement meals don’t have to be one or the other: food and support can be arranged together.

Someone prepares the daily meals, soups and teas; someone helps care for the baby; and when questions come up, there’s someone to talk them through with. I hope this gives mothers more time to rest and eat well, and gives fathers more confidence to take part in caring for the baby, so the family can settle into its new life together, one day at a time.

Latest availability for the 360 meals + in-home doula package

Availability as of 26 October 2026:

  • November: fully booked
  • Mid-December: dates available
  • Mid-January 2027: dates available
  • 28 January to 7 February 2027 (both days included): no in-home service
  • February 2027: some days can be arranged, outside the dates above

If you’re expecting a baby, start by telling us your due date, your area and how many service days you need, and we’ll work out the right arrangement together. Your dates are confirmed once we receive a 50% deposit.

Welcoming a baby is also the start of a whole new chapter for a family. I look forward to caring for mothers and supporting fathers, meal by meal, with patient answers and real, hands-on help, as they welcome the joy of a new life.
